According to the statistics 97% of Network Marketers are going to fail.  They will leave the industry most likely financially ruined and frustrated.  To earn an income in this sub-niche, dominate and becoming successful should be seen as an opportunity and not as an obstacle.  97% is a enromous market.

There are several reasons why people will fail, some we are familiar with, and others are not just known to us.

My top seven reasons why network marketers are likely to fail are:

  1. Some people are not qualified to be network marketers; they are  not just built to tackle the challenges inherent in network marketing.  It’s a good idea to stand back after your initial excitement, create in your business plan a reflection phase which you should use to evaluate your level of interest.
  2. Lack of commitment:  Network Marketing is not any easy business so you do have to work at it.  If you are going to take the casual approach, then be assured of failure.
  3. Lack of support from family and friends:  These people are the backbone of your business in many ways.  Family and friends is the     pillar which you will need when times are hard, or even when you are successful.  Lack of support from your team leaders, will have a great impact on your business.  Network Marketing is structured in such a way that people are working as a team in order to be successful.  Leaders are taking the position to guide the newbies, and roles are permanently changing.  This is a very dynamic set-up.
  4. The right niche or product to market:  I am sure that Network Marketers have experienced this before.  Finding the right niche, coupling it with the right product and with adequate knowledge market it.  Being passionate about a product, without adequate knowledge or training will stand on your way to success.  If you are new in the industry, you will find you have invested tremendous amounts of money and time in promoting a product that you may not really like.  We talked earlier about the self-evaluation period or review period, this is when you have to be honest with yourself about your choice of product which you are marketing. Remember the saying of Harvey MacKay – “Find something you love to do, and youll never work a day in your life” Failure will not be an option here if you love the product you are marketing.
  5. The Danger Zone Markets:  As a Network Marketer, you are always being told; get the products to your family, friends, and colleagues as your first clients.  They have actually purchased your product, be it because of pity, solidarity or they actually did need the product.  What happens next is that you have now exhausted this line and have not most likely you did not have a marketing strategy plan in place. So now what next?  By this time you will not be seeing the level of success which you anticipated to get when your joined the networking marketing industry.  This is where you are most likely to quit.
  6. You cannot afford it anymore:  We see that some network marketing companies come with some sort of price tags such as auto-shipment, membership costs, training and other costs, apart from your regular overhead expenses.  At the initial stage of registering, you may not be aware of the exact amount of money you need to invest in to run the business efficiently.  Not being able to put those figures in your business plan is one way of failure due to lack of ability to put a monitoring scheme in place.  Lack of knowledge how to monetize your efforts is also important.
  7. Wasted effort:  Learn how to work smarter and not harder.  Use the tools which have been developed out there such as Keyword Tools to improve your services to your target group, out-listing your competitors.  Use internet to automate your marketing efforts.  Look out for a middle way where you are embracing technical facilities, with a personal touch.
