How To Get Your Article To Rank on Page One of Google
When writing blog articles, you need to know how to get your article to rank on page one of Google.
There are many reasons why you want to get your articles listed on page one of Google, needless to say the main reason is to see the explosive of traffic to your blog and your fan page which in turn will mean increased income.
The process begins with finding specific keywords within your niche where there is not much competition. You need to find a keyword that you have a good chance to get your article to rank highly with on Google.
Step #1 on How To Get Your Article on Page One of Google:
The first step is that you will need some tools which will help you do the analysis so that you can get your article on page one of Google. Google Keyword tool which you is a free tool provided by Google and which you can use for doing your keyword research.
Let us use the keyword network marketing. Place this word into the keyword tool and you will find millions of searches per month. This is of course not going to work as there is far too much competition going for this keyword.
In order to be sure that about the exact figures, you will need to put quotation marks before and after the word (“network marketing”) so that we are only looking only for websites that are using exactly the same words.
We want to go after those specific words and if you do not place your keyword into quotation marks Google will show the competition for various combination of that keyword.
Step #2 on How To Get Your Article on Page One of Google:
Now that we have seen how many other websites have used those specific keywords on their website or blog, you will see that the higher the number the less chance that we will be using that keyword.
What we are looking for from this keyword tool is monthly searches ranging from 5.000 – 30.000. This is how best you will get your article on page one of Google. Now we need to view the rest of the Google keyword research list to see or find a keyword that is really interesting. Business Network Marketing for example will most likely have 30.000 broad searches and over 8.000 within the phrase. Next go back to Google search to see if there are a bit over 600.000 searches in competition for this keyword. We will take about a third of that and out of that you will have a true number which is what we are looking for.
Step #3 on How To Get Your Article on Page One of Google:
Now we are coming to the interesting part. There is very little authority in competition for the keyword that we have chosen. The second listing is ranking over 600.000 in the world and over 300.000 in for example in the United States. The bottom line is that when you take a look at your competition and you see very few authority sites, you will probably have a good chance to get ranked on page one.
Here I recommend that you stick to 4.000 – 20.000 searches with 10.000 – 100.000 in competition. Now let us look at the competition because this is the best example of a keyword that has virtually none.
In my next post, I will show you how to write your article using SEO strategies so that you will get your article to rank on page one of Google.

Hi Elizabeth,
Thanks for sharing your ideas on Keyword Research. I agree that doing proper keyword research takes time but in the end it’s well worth the time investment. If you aren’t prepared to do what’s necessary than you might as well just leave it.
Yes, we all want to get onto page one, or more importantly within the first 3 of page 1, not that easy but I’ve seen some experienced people get it right most of the time. I’ll get there as giving up doesn’t exist in my vocabulary.

Hey Elizabeth it doesn’t matter what you do unless you get the research part right. Target and use the right keywords and you are already on your way to getting a good ranking and good numbers of traffic with it. Thanks for sharing those numbers on the competition/searches.

Thanks for the tips Elizabeth. I had a bit of trouble following the numbers for the competition. When I have used the key word tool, what I get in the “competition” column is “low” “medium” or “high”. Is the more than 600,000 number associated with one of those “ratings” of competition? I could not quite figure. Thanks!
